The Austalian wine industry is being reshaped by a sharp increase in the number of grape varietes being used. Some varieties such as Pinot gris, Viognier, Sangiovese and Tempranillo were virtually unheard of in Australia just a decade ago. Now each of these varieties are rapidly becoming mainstream. In fact more than 100 different grape varieties are used to make wine in Australia. Consumers are enjoying a much wider choice, but information is scarce. Vinodiversity fills that information gap. The site is read by discerning wine lovers all over the world, especially those who enjoy something different.
