Bringing Precious Memories to Life Again
Queensland mum takes the worry out of what to do with old photographs by creating personalised family keepsakes
Every festive occasion, large or small has one thing is common - the camera. Photos of smiling children, weeping mother-of-the-bride, baby's first birthday or simple family picnics. Once an album or two are filled, however, these happy snaps are usually filed in the bottom drawer of the dresser or a shoebox at the back of a cupboard.
Rose Hillier of Unique Scrapbooks says: “It doesn't have to be that way.” Mrs Hillier creates customised and ready-made scrapbooks for families who may not have the time to create their own.
With Christmas fast approaching, Unique Scrapbooks has just released a new range of pre-designed scrapbook frames called Framed Moments. A safe, easy way to display precious Christmas memories.
“Scrapbooking has taught us that our photos can be presented beautifully, along with their stories to record the moments forever.” said Mrs Hillier. “However, it takes time to create a scrapbook – time that many people just don't have. So the photos stay in their boxes.”
Unfortunately, inadequate treatent and storage of photos not only hides them from the world but may also damage them. This is because many types of paper contain acid and lignin, both of which cause photographs to fade and discolour. Unique Scrapbooks ensures photograph safety using only products that are both acid and lignin free.
According to Mrs Hillier, it's time to get the photos out of their dusty shoeboxes and back on display where they belong.
“It's such a shame to see gorgeous family photos sitting in boxes or unsafe albums.” Mrs Hillier said. “Our photos should be treasured and passed to future generations.”
